Citrus Infused Cleaning Vinegar Recipe
This is a great option for using up your lemon and other citrus peels and for enhancing the scent of your cleaning vinegar. Vinegar can be strong for some, but this will make it a bit more pleasant. You will need to collect your citrus peels to make this – both the rind and the pith (white) part are fine to use, but avoid putting the fruit of the citrus in the jar. You can either place a jar in the fridge to collect your peels over the course of a few days or leave it on the counter with some vinegar in it already to avoid your peels from spoiling.
- Citrus Peel (lemon, orange, lime, grapefruit) – use just one type or mix it up
- White Distilled Vinegar
- Fill a mason jar with your citrus peel and then pour your vinegar in and completely submerge the peels.
- Place a lid on it and allow it to sit for about a week, or up to 3 weeks.
- When ready, strain out the citrus peels and pour it into a spray bottle ready for to use.
I like to use these amber bottles because I prefer to use glass for most things and I like the look of it 🙂
